* Afghanistan lost their opening match of this mega events against Australia by 7 wickets.
* After starting very poor in batting, in which their both openers got out for without scoring, their middle order batsmen likes of Rahmat Shah (43 runs) and Skipper Gulbadi Naib (31) and Najubullah Zadran (51) tried to lifted the innings but their tremendous effort was not enough for them and they bowled out for only 207 in the first innings. They played only 38.2 Overs.
* They did not perform better in bowling also. Only Gulbadin Naib, Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Rashid Khan picked up one wickets each but, except Hamid Hasan whose bowling analysis was 6-15-0, all bowlers were expensive and spent more than six runs per overs which need to restrict in the next match. Mujeeb Ur Rahman was too expensive and spent 45 runs in only 4.5 Overs, however he picked up one important wicket of Skipper Aaron Finch.
* The Wicket of Sophia Garden, Cardiff will be little dry as compare than first match which was played between Sri Lanka and New Zealand two days ago, and will easy to bat. Hence, Afghanistan's top as well as middle order need to be more consistent in batting to put or chase a handy total otherwise they can not turn the result in their favour.
* They some batsmen, likes of M Shahzad, R Shah, H Sahidi, N Jadran have very good recent form and will hope to show a useful batting in this match.
