* After winning their both initial matches, Australia lost their third match against India by 36 runs.
* India putted 352/5 in the Ist Innings. Australian pacers looked very average on the little dry wicket of Kennington Oval and leaked more runs in the slog overs. Marcus Stoinis picked up two wickets, while Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc and Nathan Coulter Nile picked one wicket each.
* In batting, Steven Smith , David Warner and Alex Carey played a brilliant innings of 69 , 56 and 55* runs respectively . However, Usman Khawaja and Aaron Finch also got start but could not capitalise into a big knock.
* Australia's both, the batting and the bowling, looked slightly weak in the previous match again India. Their pacer looked very effortless on the dry wickets of Kennington Oval, although Pitch was not so bad for pacers. Their pacers will have to show more determination in bowling against Pakistan in the next match.
* Australia's batting is too dependent on Steven Smith and David Warner , which is not good for them. In the last match against India, Both batsmen played very well but they were not supported by any batsmen in middle order. However, Alex Carey played a brilliant innings at the end but it was so late for Australia to come back into the game.

* After defeating their first match against Windies by very worst manner, Pakistan came back in their second match against England very nicely and defeated to England by 14 runs. Their previous match against Sri Lanka has been abandoned due to rain.
* Pakistan's batting , that was very poor in their opening match of this mega events, clicked in bulk in this match and their three batsmen namely Babar Azam, Mohammad Hafeez and Skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed have been very exceptional with bat and registered their respective half centuries.
* Mohammad Hafeez was the top scorer with 84 runs while Babar Azam and Sarfaraz Khan scored 63 and 55 runs respectively. Their both openers Imam Ul Haq and Fakhar Zaman provide very good start and shared 82 runs for the opening wicket before the dismissal of Fakhar Zaman(36 runs). Imam Ul Haq scored 44 runs.
* Their trio middle order batsmen Babar Azam, M Hafeez and Skipper S Ahmed turned their opening start into a big total and Pakistan Putted a huge total of 348/8 in the first innings.
* Pakistan's bowling was very formidable in this match and restricted the opposition for only 334 in the second innings and hence, they won by 14 runs. Wahab Riaz picked up three wickets while, Mohammad Amir and Shadab Khan picked up two wickets each.
* Mohammad Amir's , who looked very exceptional with ball in last both matches, brilliant recent form is the very positive sign for the Pakistan because M Amir's bowling performance was so poor during the last one year. Shaoib Malik is able to stable the innings after early damage while, Asif Ali is a good hitter of ball and has very good recent form in the previous ODI series against England in England.
